It’s time once again for one of The Cobblestone’s greatest annual events. Oktoberfest!
What could be finer then spending a fall afternoon with your friends underneath the Clocktower munching on brats, quaffing a few brews and listening to live music? It’s on tap for October 5th between 1 and 4 pm.
This year Tahoe Mountain Brewing Company is bringing out the brats and brews, which if you are not aware, go perfectly together on a sunny, but crisp fall afternoon in Tahoe. Once you’ve had a brat you need dessert, so the North Tahoe High School Project Grad will be providing delicious concoctions, while the Cub Scouts will be selling popcorn. Filled up and feeling artsy? North Tahoe Arts will be providing you with the opportunity to do a little pumpkin painting.
Freshly fed and thirst quenched, it’s time for the fun to begin. Music will be provided by the Groove Foundry, a seven piece soul jazz band with a lively horn section, guitar, keyboard and percussion-All designed to get you up and moving. There will also be a number of old-fashioned contests for kids and adults including Apple Bobbing, Weiner Tossing, and Stein Squatting, which involves holding a squat for as long as possible while hoisting a full stein of beer. And yes, there are semi-strict rules against sucking down the brew while the judges are not looking.
Don’t miss this special event that once again reminds us what a wonderful place Tahoe City is to be.
