Cobblestone Facebook Page

By Tim Hauserman

Sure, The Cobblestone is a gathering of buildings with a European theme and a central clocktower in the center of Tahoe City. But it is also a community of businesses who have a shared interest in being a fun place for people to shop, eat, drink or enhance their life through activities like dance or yoga. One of the ways the businesses and people interested in those goals can further that effort is by joining The Cobblestone Center Facebook page.

The Cobblestone: His dream come true.

At first glance, The Cobblestone might appear to be a number of connected buildings holding a variety of small businesses. Or perhaps you envision it as a commercial shopping center with a European theme centered around a clock tower. In reality, it is the place of dreams.

If we are blessed with a last ditch dumping of snow, the Cobblestone Nordic Relays will occur on February 26th at the Cobblestone. It is a key event of the Alpenglow Winter Festival which goes from February 14-March 3rd.

Shop Local…Shop very local!

By Tim Hauserman
Many of us try to avoid the mad crush of Black Friday Christmas sales, and instead find that perfect gift at the small shops that can be found locally. When we support a local merchant, they can afford to hire a local plumber, shop at the local stores, and pay property taxes that support the local schools.

Changing of the Big Clock

It happens every year…actually twice a year: The changing of the clocks. When we adjust from standard time to daylight savings time in the spring, and then do the whole thing in reverse in the fall.

Going to the Home Country

By Tim Hauserman

It’s easy when you live in a place as beautiful as Tahoe to find yourself perfectly content spending your time at the lake. For me that means mountain biking in Burton Creek State Park, road biking to the top of Blackwood Pass, hiking on the Tahoe Rim Trail, or heading out on a kayak from The Commons Beach. That is, until winter when it is all about cross-country skiing. Tahoe is an incredible place to live, and those of us who have set down roots here, thank our lucky stars every day.

Cobblestone Oktoberfest!

By Tim Hauserman
It’s time once again for one of The Cobblestone’s greatest annual events. Oktoberfest!
What could be finer then spending a fall afternoon with your friends underneath the Clocktower munching on brats, quaffing a few brews and listening to live music? It’s on tap for October 5th between 1 and 4 pm.

The Cobblestone Blog!

The goal of this blog will be to keep you up to date on what is going on at The Cobblestone, whether it is an event about to happen such as Octoberfest, or what a new business will be offering. And since The Cobblestone is right smack in the middle of Tahoe City, I will also be expounding on all things Tahoe City, the little and big things that make our town pretty dang special.
